Posted by Mark

Commencement Year: 2012

The CFK recognizes individuals who rise above excellence and demonstrate clear distinction in research and scholarship. The CFK Outstanding Research and Scholarship (ORS) Award is presented to an individual who has made significant and lasting research and scholarship contributions to global sustainable science and technology. Recipients receive a plaque engraved with their name and signed by The CFK Chair and an embossed award certificate. The award is announced by The CFK Chair at The CFK Annual International Scientific Conference during CFK's award presentation session. The award recipient is invited to give a keynote presentation at The CFK conference in the year in which the award is made. The award recipient also receives up to $2000 towards support for travel costs, including airfare, hotel, and conference registration to attend the agreed upon CFK conference. The selection committee is appointed by The CFK Board Chair and consists of CFK Directors, and the Chair of The CFK Scientific Advisory Committee (The CFK, SAC). The selection committee solicits nominations from the entire science and technology community in a variety of ways including announcements on The CFK website, newsletter, Science and Technology Notes, and postings on appropriate newsgroups and websites. The committee considers all external nominations, plus any internal nominations from members of the selection committee, in the context of the nominees' research and scholarship contributions to sustainable global science and technology.
