The CFK Scholarships

About the Scholarship

Applications are invited for Scholarships to support students who will pursue a Masters course at Makerere University. The Scholarships will be awarded to qualifying students to read for a two-year Masters course commencing in the fourth quarter of 2011, at Makerere University, in Environmental and Natural Resources, Computer Science and Information Sciences, Engineering, Mathematical Modelling, Geosciences, Physics, Statistics, and other similar fields.

Up to five (5) Scholarships will be awarded in the academic year starting in 2011. This is a fully funded Scholarship. Each approved Scholarship will cover tuition and coursework fees, and living expenses. The Scholarship will also cover books, laptop, advanced technology equipment and other consumables for the research project.

In the second year of a 2-year Masters, a visit will be funded to an overseas CFK Board Member or some other Leading International Expert in a relevant field, either a CFK Board Member or another Expert associated with a CFK Board Member. This visit is for research mentoring and collaboration. Approval for such a research visit will allow a maximum of 4 weeks stay (in up to two travel periods), to one or more collaborating Experts.
